Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Psyche: Jurnal Psikologi undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. During double-blind review, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor initially examines each manuscript for its relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, academic quality, ethical compliance, language clarity, and textual similarity. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements may be rejected without external review or returned for preliminary revision.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic and methodology. When reviewer recommendations differ substantially, the editor may invite an additional reviewer or make an editorial assessment based on the available reports.

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on their originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, quality of data analysis, clarity of results, strength of the discussion and conclusions, relevance of references, ethical compliance, organization, and contribution to psychology or professional practice.

Reviewers are generally expected to submit their reports within two to four weeks after accepting the invitation. The overall review process normally takes approximately four to eight weeks, although the duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and the number of review rounds.

Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, research and publication experience, independence, review quality, timeliness, and absence of conflicts of interest. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, provide objective and constructive assessments, disclose potential conflicts of interest, and report suspected research or publication misconduct to the editor.

Editorial decisions may be: Accept Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit for Review, or Decline Submission. A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor after considering the reviewers’ recommendations, the authors’ responses, and the journal’s editorial standards.

Publication Frequency

Psyche: Jurnal Psikologi publishes two issues each year, in February and August. Articles are published collectively as part of a complete issue with its own table of contents.
