EKSPLORASI PREFERENSI RUANG KERJA DITINJAU DARI FAKTOR PERSONAL DAN KEPRIBADIAN MAHASISWA

Abstract


Pada era waktu kerja fleksibel, mahasiswa memiliki kebebasan untuk memilih ruang kerja yang sesuai dengan preferensi masing-masing seperti mengerjakan di perpustakaan, communal space, atau di ruang belajar informal lainnya. Namun, ruang kerja yang tidak ideal dapat menggangu performa dari individu. Pemilihan ruang kerja didasarkan oleh pertimbangan-pertimbangan khusus seperti faktor personal dan kepribadian. Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara faktor personal (usia dan uang saku) dan kepribadian dengan preferensi ruang kerja pada mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 226 orang mahasiswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Kepribadian diukur menggunakan Neuroticism-Extraversion-Openness Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI). Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis chi-square. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa diantara faktor personal lain seperti usia dan kepribadian, hanya uang saku mahasiswa yang memiliki hubungan dengan preferensi ruang kerja.  Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan urgensi bagi pihak terkait untuk mempertimbangkan faktor ekonomi mahasiswa dalam menyediakan berbagai pilihan ruang kerja atau ruang belajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keterjangkauan mahasiswa.
