PROGRAM “MAP OUT YOUR CAREER: GRAB THE BRIGHTER FUTURE” SEBAGAI INTERVENSI UNTUK MENGATASI KESULITAN PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN KARIR MASA DEWASA

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Berdasarkan teori perkembangan manusia, mahasiswa merupakan individu yang mengalami transisi dari masa perkembangan remaja akhir menuju dewasa awal. Dalam masa transisi tersebut tentu saja mahasiswa mengalami berbagai macam tantangan perubahan dan dituntut untuk dapat menyesuaikan diri. Salah satu tantangan yang dihadapi adalah terkait dengan karir di masa depan. Namun, fakta menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia masih menjadi negara dengan jumlah angkatan kerja di Indonesia pada tahun 2023 telah mencapai 146,62 juta orang dengan angka Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) sebesar 5,45 persen (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2023).  Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya persiapan karir bagi angkatan kerja terutama saat masih berada di bangku perkuliahan. Dengan demikian, mahasiswa dan juga lulusan perguruan tinggi masih banyak yang mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan pengambilan keputusan karir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pemberian program pelatihan “Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future” terhadap pengambilan keputusan karir. Pengujian dilakukan melalui metode eksperimen kuasi, yaitu desain Untreated Control Group Design with Dependent pre-test and post-test samples. Sejumlah 60 mahasiswa dan alumni dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Partisipan penelitian dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program pelatihan “Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future” terbukti memberikan pengaruh terhadap pengambilan keputusan karir partisipan penelitian dan hasil uji statistik yang menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor kesulitan pengambilan keputusan di kelompok eksperimen antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian program pelatihan (p< 0,01) dengan nilai effect size yang diperoleh juga menunjukkan nilai tinggi yaitu 0,929. Dengan demikian, program pelatihan “Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future” dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu intervensi untuk mengatasi kesulitan pengambilan keputusan yang dialami oleh individu dewasa.

ABSTRACT

Based on human development theory, students are individuals who experience a transition from the developmental period of late adolescence to early adulthood. During this transition period, of course, students experience various kinds of challenges of change and are required to be able to adapt. One of the challenges faced is related to future careers. However, the facts show that Indonesia still has a high unemployment rate. One of the causes is the lack of career preparation for the workforce, especially while still in college. Thus, many students and college graduates still need help in making career decisions. This research examines the effect of providing the "Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future" training program on career decision making. Testing was conducted using a quasi-experimental method, namely the Untreated Control Group Design with Dependent pre-test and post-test samples. A total of 60 students and alumni were involved in this research. Research participants were divided into two, namely the control group and the experimental group. The results of this research show that the "Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future" training program is proven to have an influence on the career decision-making of research participants and the results of statistical tests show that there is a significant difference between the decision making difficulty scores in the experimental group between before and after providing the training program (p<0.01) the effect size value obtained also showed a high value, namely 0.929. Thus, Map Out Your Career: Grab the Brighter Future” training programs can be used as an intervention to overcome decision-making difficulties experienced by young adult.
